Titus Andronicus, the mighty Roman general, returns home to Rome shortly after the Roman Emperor has died. Dragging along a party of “war-like” Goths and admirers, Titus then proceeds to hack apart a good number of the people he comes in contact with, including a few of his own sons. Meanwhile, Tamora, Queen of the Goths, plots against Titus with a vengeful and fiery wrath. With the help of her lover Aaron the Moor and her new friend Saturninus, son of the recently deceased emperor, Tamora becomes a major factor in Titus’ slow yet steady spiral into insanity. The death toll increases as the play rolls on, with limbs and heads being hacked off left and right. Often considered one of Shakespeare’s worst plays, Titus Andronicus, Shakespeare’s first “stab” at writing a tragedy, is easily interpreted into a shockingly funny Tarantino-esque teenage slasher film of a play. Join Primary Colours to witness Shakespeare’s most horrifying and bloodiest tragedy in a night of shameless, juvenile, gory glee!
